Chief Complaints;-
Patient Came To Me With Complaints Of Malaise, Anorexia And Mild Fever On 19-8-2002. He Was Also Student Of B.A.M.S.-2nd Prof. In My College.
There Was No History Of Jaundice, Haematemesis, Malina Or Any Infection; But There Was The History Of Alcohol Taking Since Last 3 Years.
On Examinatiuon,
Patient Was Severe,pallor,cynosis, Left Axillary Lymph Node Enlarged,
pulse-70/mint.,B.P.-110/76 Mm Of Hg, R/R- 22/mint.,
On P/A Examimation –
Liver Was Palpable And Enlarged By Four Fingures.
Spleen Was Also Palpable And Enlarged By Four Fingures .
Respiratory System,cardio Vascular System,Central . Nervous System Were Found Normal.
Past History ;-
According Patient, He Was Suffering From The Same Problems Since Last 8 Months. He Had Taken The Consultation Elsewhere, But Not Get Any Relief. On 31-5-2002, He Was Admitted In Christian Medical COLLEGE, Ludhiana Under The Supervision Of Dr. J. Dhanoa And He Made A Provisional Diagnosis “ Lymphoproliferative Disease—Hairy Cell Leukemia Further On Bone Marrow Examination Dated 1/6/2002, The Disease Was Diagnosed As Myelofibrosis.During The Period Of Investigation,Blood Transfusion Was Performed On The Advise Of Their Consultant, As Their Anemia Was Very Severe. Blood Transfusion Was Going On Repeatedly After Every 3-4 Days. Patient Was Not Feeling Relief,so He Went To Dr. S.C. Sharma, PGIMER, Chandigarh.
On 13-6-02, Bone Marrow Examination Was Again Performed And Disease Was Diagnosed As Myelofibrosis.
On 13-7-02, Doctor Diagnose The Disiase Provisionally As Lymphoreticular Malignancy, And Suggested FNAC To Conferm The Disease. FNAC Was Done In Histopathology Department Of P.G.I.,Chandigarh, And Diagnose The Case As Hyperplasia Reactive Lymphoid. After Investigations.
The Doctors Of P.G.I.-Chandigarh Prescribed The Modern Medicines . After A Long Period , Patient Had Not Get Any Relief. The Condition Of Patient Was Going Severe To Severe. On 21-8-2002.
I Again Examine The Patient And Advised For Some Haematological Investigations.On The Basis Of Last Investigation, And Other Haematological Examinations, U.S.G., B.M.aspiration Report, And Provisional Diagnosis Of P.G.I.Chandigarh,Christian Medical College,Ludhiana, I Confermed The Patient As Hairy Cell Leukemia And Sterted Ayurvedic Treatment On Personal Request Of The Patient And His FatherDr.Ashok Mehta .
On 29-8-2002, I Prescribed The Following Treatment—
1-- Green Punernava Whole Plant’s Fresh Juice ---- 20 Ml.empty Stomach At 6am And 6pm.
2—Fresh Juice Of Whole Wheat Plant (Measuring About 6-8 Inches In Length)—50 Ml. At 8 Am And 8 Pm.
3—Purefied Swarna Garik 250 Mg.
At 8.30am And 8.30 Pm Manjishthadi Churna 500mg After Meal.
4. Arogyavardhini Vati 120 Mg.
5.Punernava Mandoor 250 Mg. -1x2 ,
Patient Was Advised To Take Non- Irritant Simple Diet Like Chapatti, Rice, Khichri, Moongo Pulse (cooked)and Fruits Like Papaya, Grapes & Apple. Patient Was Strictly Prohibited To Take Alcohol, Tobacco And Narcotics.During The Course Of Treatment, Patient Was Advised To Stop All The Other Medicines.
These Ayurvedic Medicines Was Prescribed For The Period Of One Month. On 8-9-2002, Patient Came For Examination With Haematological Investigation Reports.
On Physical Examination, Patient Was Showing Improvement Clinically As Well As Haematologically. Appetite Was Improved, And Was Feeling Some Relief.
Hepatospleenomegally Was Redused Up To Some Extent .
Hb Was Improved From 4.5 To9 Gm%.
ESR Was Redused From 178 To 25 Mm/hr.
And Platelet Count Was Increased Dramatically.DLC;TLC Reports Were Also Improved. Patient Was Advised To Take The Same Treatment For Two Weaks Again.
On 22-9-2002,patient Came To Me With Haematological Examinations . Patiently Was Surprisingly Good Looking,body Weight Was Increased, Appetite Was Improved, Cyanosis And Pallor And Feeling Of Tiredness Was Totally Removed.
Hb Was Increased Again& It Was 10.8 Gm%. TLC, DLC Were Also Improved, ESR Was Redused To 9mm In1st Hr.& Platelet Count Was Increased And Crossed The Lower Normal Limit .
On Examination, Hepatospleenomegaly Was Redused To 2 Fingures & Axillary Lymph Nodes Enlargement Was Very Mild. I Again Advised To Take The Same Treatment For Further 14 Days. Again Patient Came To Me.
On 5-10-02 With His Haematological Report. Patient Was Much Better Then The Previous Condition. On Examination, Liver Was Not Enlarged, Spleen Was Enlarged But It Was Less Then The Previous Condition.
Hb Was 12gm%, TLC=7000/cmm, P60, L40, ESR Was 04mm In 1sthr. And Platelet Count Was 1,65000lac/cmm. Patient Was Symptoms Free Totally I Again Advised To Take The Same Treatment For 3 Months, And Directed To Come For Routine Check-up After 1 Month With U.S.G. – Whole Abdomen & Also With The Same Haematological Investigations.
Patient Came To Me On 7-11-02 With Their Reports .U.S.G. Report Was Showing Mild Enlargement In Liver And Spleen Was Enlarged In Size 20.5cms And Normal In Parenchymal Appearance .
All Other Findings Were Quite Normal. Now I Prescribed The Medicines As Previous Medicine No 1& 2 And Stoped The Medicine No 3 .In Addition.
I Prescribed Sarpunkha Kshar 100 Mg.
And Muli Kshar 100mg. With Bhumyamalki Cold Infusion 50 Ml. Morning And Evening Daily For 3 Months.

I Examined The Patient . He Was Quite Normal And Feeling Well. His Appetite Was Good , Any Lymph Gland Was Not Feeling . There Blood Reports Were Quite Normal. On Examination, Liver And Spleen Were Not Palpable. I Advise The Patient To Take Same Medicines For Further 2 Months And Then Stop All The Medicines.Patient Is Still Under Observation ( Dr. Pradeep Kumar ) ==================================================================== This Is The Trail Report Of A Patiant Having Cancer.
